New tying station
« on: May 29, 2012, 01:23:11 PM »
Built myself  a tying station. I was previously working out a shoe box.  The plan is to build a dedicated tying desk down the road, but for now it is an improvement.
It has a work surface for the vise and spinner.  There's a carousel for flash materials.  And storage for spools, bobbins, tools and liquids.
It measures about 24 x 18 inches, so its somewhat portable.

nice whats that on the left that looks like a grinding wheel?
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Drying wheel / spinner.  Rotates the hooks while the head cement dries, so it does run and drip.

Not quite that portable.  ::)

Except for the 3/16th dowel, I had all the lumber in the shop.  So total cost was about $2  ;D.  But even to do it all out of oak or maple, the cost of materials would be maybe $30-$40.

Joking aside, it looks sweet. I have a hard time being that organized and intuitive to make my own portable bench.  t^

My Biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.
