Bucktailing Fluke - Underwater View
« on: June 04, 2012, 11:00:56 PM »
A couple of very interesting videos.  They were taken by John Skinner, who generally fishes places like the Long Island Sound and Montauk.  He has several other informative videos on his YouTube channel, which I would encourage you to check out as well. t^

Cool. Thanks for posting. One thing I noticed was the dismal action of the gulp swimming mullet. Unless you are moving it quick that tail doesn't really flutter too much.

I would love to get that camera on my snaffued white leggers when tog fishing. That way I can at least see the fish that breaks my heart when i roll her 3 cranks up.

You definitely have to keep them moving to get that tail turning.  However, I think the newer Gulp! Swimming Mullets are a bit softer and more supple than the first generation.

BTW, I just received some of the new 5" Swimming Mullets.  I'm eager to try this new size next time I'm out fluking. t^

That would make sense. I was wading in the the river today and was watching my baits and they were definitely fluttering more than the video.

That's a great video, and I would love it if something like this could be used to settle the color and bait type debates we were having a couple months ago.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Hi Limpett,

No diver. He has a rig (don't know what it looks like) with an old submersible camera on it and he dropped it down alongside his line. I know he said he had some difficulty getting his presentation to stay within the camera's field of view. Awesome video nonetheless.
