call garmin, they should guide you.  Those map cards are great.

Make sure you have the "Detail" setting turned on.  If not you wont see the water depths it will just show you your location.

Salty,
My has the option to turn on or off the Fish Symbols.  It is on the Sonar page options.  Unfortunately I have a 2210 so my settings are a little different but look on your Sonar Settings page and look for fish symbols, it should be there.

Make sure your Beam is set to Wide and also set your Gain to Auto.

This may help or give Garmin a call I am sure they can walk you through it.

Well called Garmin finally got a tech on the cell... and Wham i hook me a 20" fluke so i told HIM to hang on while i boat it LOL... well only thing he could say was it might be the transducer and adjust the gain up which i already had.
Thing is if i can see the contour of the bottom WHY wont it read the depth in digits and see fish dang it.. boat was over an entire school of bunker and NOTHING!

ok mine onlyhandles 200khz ! the guy said if i put my hand under the transducer i should hear a clicking sound or something like that .. i heard nothing! think i should try and replace this while its in water its transom mount.
Someone test that theory out on theirs when they can?

Salty

You sound be able to hear the transducer, clicking.....this is the beams being sent out and received.  I don't know much about Garmin FF but on my Furuno yet can set it back to factory setting, I do this every month or so, there has to be something like that on yours....only other things I can think of is if the transducer is mounted at the right angle and is the transducer clear of any barnacles or sea hair........... 5hrug

If you can read bottom and see contours, channels and bootom changes (along with depth), then their is no reason you shouldn't see fish markings other then it isn't set right.
