Boat Explosion 12 Miles off of Sandy Hook
« on: June 11, 2012, 05:29:02 PM »
Reports by various news agencies that a yacht the "Blind Date" with 21 people aboard had some type of explosion injuring 9 victims.  Most of the victims are suffering from burns.  USCG Cutter and Helo on scene transporting victims/survivors back to shore.  They are using Sandy Hook CG Station/Ft Hancock as shore point for transfers and the Staging Area.  They have requested multiple Medevacs, BLS/ALS Ambulances and supporting Fire Apparatus!

Fox 5 news just reported that the boat has actually yet to be found.  5 helicopters searching.

At 6:15 5 helicopters and at least 2 boats from CG and various Law Enforcement still can not find anything at all, not even debris.  I'm beginning to have some suspicion.   5hrug

First off as I said my thoughts and prayers with the victims.

This may be because I have been cooped up for the last 3 weeks and am just delirious, but something about this doesn't smell right.  They just reported 3 of the helicopters and 7 ambulances just left the scene.  Apparently this is the boat:

And this is also the boat:

http://www.superyachttimes.com/editorial/21/article/id/5750

Maybe it's me but I find a 160 foot diesel powered boat (coincidentally for sale) exploding to bits leaving absolutely no debris to be seen from a 2 hour search and rescue a bit curious.

If it is a hoax, which I am sure it is it is just another reason to hate people.

Well.... its a hoax...(watching news now ) I think many of us thought this; sadly at one point... even a hr in to it when they didn't find the boat, life boats or one single thing, no debris at all, other boats on site it became fishy. I hope they find the SOB's that did this. OVER 200 first responders... even from capecod!!!!! All those rescue services could have been saving people that were really in trouble! And who's paying for the hoax!! Over 100,000.000 dollars!!!! The lil people..you and I.There are 4 boats registered with that name..all accounted for. WOW!!! I still give KUDOS to the USCG and the other emergency teams that did respond. They were ready!!! Now...if we could only find the A**HOLES that did this....  >:D >:D

Just the thought of someone doing that makes you sick nosmly
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

My gues is well over a million dollars not to mention the potential disasters that could've happened to responders. Not including USCH assets there were 6 MedEvac helicopters on-scene. Cleary with that many aircraft and other ground apparatus responding to a single location the recipe for an accident was there.

Here is a picture of the MedEvac staging area (my helicopter is the cool red/whit/blue one at the top in the middle).....
