« on: June 28, 2012, 03:52:21 PM »
Ok.. you guys are probably getting sick of these...  pawle  But this is the last one for a while, I promise! I'm about out of skins, and desire to make rods for a while anyway.. to much fishin to do.. But this piece of prairie rattler was too nice to go to waste.. this is on another Seeker Inshore Lite 72l.. spiral wrapped with Amtak guides.. mudhole "project -x" aluminium seat...  Built for my buddy,  and new member here Jay..  chrz

That is some nice really nice work!  Outstanding!

I'd be afraid to use it!  More of an artpiece than letting it get beat up on deck!

That's what I was thinking. I'm rough on my equipment this would be something to just collect.

And BTW, nobody would get tired of looking at these.

Thanks guys!  grtn  My rods get used pretty hard too.. no reason not to really..  anyone who has fished with me knows, I'm about as graceful as a 3-peckered billy goat... so my stuff gets bounced around pretty good... But,  although they look cool gussied up with all with the snake inlays, etc, that stuff is really way less work than doing a nice thread cross wrap..   plus by the time it has a few coats of finish, they are as tough as any other rod..can't hurt them much.. I especially like Threadmaster finish for that reason.. it has a shorter pot life than some, but sets up hard as nails.... they're fun to build.. but more fun to get bloody..   TT^    chrz

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

My Biggest worry is that when I'm dead and gone, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

A real beauty...fun to build and fun to use.
I am slowly rebuilding and replacing rods in  my arsenal and will give away a couple of the "oldies" I have made, to my friends son. This teenager shows some real talent and  interest in the sport. t^
Good Luck with your new rod.
