Reel McCoy II July 4th report
« on: July 04, 2012, 08:39:19 PM »
Wanted to get out early and call it an early day but as soon as I pulled out of the slip I turned on the radio only to hear of thunderstorm warnings for the area, with darkening skies and the wind picking up I went back to the gas dock, topped off the tank and waited it out for about 30 mins.  Then I went straight to Scotland a few drifts without a hit, went a bit further east and put three keeper fluke in the box on the first drift. Back again and had three shorts and 3 more keepers which I released hoping for something a bit larger.  Headed to the Mud Bouy where I caught 10 shorts and a mess of CBs keeping two large ones.  Had a 6-7lber to the boat and it took off when I reached for the net.  Headed back to the spot I had the keepers only to get a few more short CDs and fluke.  Had a lot of action and it was the first trip I caught more than a limit.   Happy 4th to all.

 TT^ way to go Dan
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
