Pilot - Paul and Tbone mixed bag 7/8 rodeo
« on: July 08, 2012, 09:01:34 PM »
Met the guys at 6:30 with a scratch for bait locally.  :headscra:  Some days they're there some days not at all. We looked for a good hour here and at another marina but had Kelly's as the back up plan. On the way out Paul puts the bead on some adults. One and done with about a dozen pieces for strip.  Perfect.  Head immediately to the south grounds where we begin a quick onslaught of CB's then it petered out quick.  We picked away for another 45 minutes duplicating some drifts.  Tbone drops the hammer on a solid body that taped 23.5"  and probably wieghed close to 5lb.  That was the largest of our fish today.  Not satisfied with the slow pick we moved off a favorite spot to find steadier action on the biscuits, ling and more flatties.  Paul was jacking a few up with his light weight setup spro low spro high trimmed.  I had constant drop and reel action for the majority of the day.   Moved off to inspect a small small piece at slack.  Probably the highlight of the day for T-Bone as he drills a combo keeper Fluke/CB on our first stop on the piece.  Nicely done and the boy was grinning ear-to-ear.  Headed a little further south to do some more prescout work.  Very little drift but we came across a spot that appears to be fished heavy by some sharpies.  We got in on a little bit of the action before we decided to call it a day.   Great day on the water with incredible smooth ride there and home again.

Count on the keepers:  14 Biscuits, 6 Fluke and 4 Dingers for the Bone man.   t^

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

fcp I hope you read my post about precooking your catch on the Dock Boards, Photos are nice but well kept fish is better. I don't take but a few minutes to do damage, This is just a friendly thought Bill chrz

I agree with the precook comment.  They come out of the ice chest for a quick snap and then right back in before they go under the knife.   t^
