Kenny,

So glad you're ok.  I mentioned this to Paul-e back at the banquet and I'll say it to you too.  PLEASE please take this warning seriously and do whatever you can to get off the smokes and take care of your body.  That includes stress as well.  My father was 51 years old when he died of his heart attack.  I was 30 at that time.  He had alot of warnings leading up to his and he never took them seriously enough.  He's never met his grandson and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him.  I'm still pretty damn devastated he's gone and at least I was 30 years old.  I know your kids are younger than me if I recall correctly, so think hard about how losing you would affect them.  It's one hell of a struggle to quit smoking believe me I know, It's been about 2 months now since I had one, but you CAN do it.  I'm praying for you buddy and again I'm glad you're home safe.

The best reason to quit:

When my kids ( 11 and 8 years old ) broke down and cried with me as they went home from the emergency room on Monday night...they thought they were loosing their Father....

Gona do it for sure....for them !!!!

 t^ get on som of them 12hr bingo trips and dont bring none with you, I been doing it with work and its a lot easier to not smoke when you cant go get any

WOW, Kenny.  I don't smoke but my father did and he died from those stinking things.  Feel better soon.

Glad your okay now bud  chrz.  Keep yourself well. 
I put the smokes down last October.  I smoked for 9 years, a pack a day.  I have a secret that I used to quit.  It worked for me. May not work for anyone else.
**It came to a hault when I found out my fiancee who is 27 years old has a heart condition (a flap in her heart isnt working correctly).  She smoked as well.  We decided to quit together.  For her it was very easy, she put them down, and walked away, never to look back.  I tried about 5 times and then did this....I sat at home and drank, drank more, and then drank more.  I think it was Jack Daniels but my memory doesnt serve me well from that night. I was drunk as a skunk thud, smoked 2 packs of cigarrettes and went to bed at 4 am.  Woke up at 8 am, still drunk as a skunk, feeling like I was going to puke, and I also had a nicotine hang over.  I felt SOOOO horrible I didnt even want a cigarette.  I went that whole day without one I was so sick.  The next day I felt better and said hmmm a cigarette.  But then I thought, "I went all day yesterday without one, lets make it 2 days".  Every single day for about 2 weeks I said that, after the 4th day, food tasted differently, I didnt like certain soft drinks anymore because of the taste, a smoker would pass and I would go..Damn they stink.  I havent looked back since.  Good luck on quitting buddy and who ever else is going to quit,Do it!!!!! They suck.

For a disclosure, I am not condoning drinking alot. And if you do please dont drive.

A wake up call- many folks don't get to talk about them.  I buried a close friend 6 months ago - 42 years old. Heart attack dropped him on the spot. Hope your recovery is a smooth one.
