Got my reel back from Shimano

[Reel Time]

 Been reading how shimano takes care of their customers with reels that fall under the platinum service plan. Basically heard they'll replace parts with the slightest wear for no charge and had to see for myself.


 Well, i got it back today. 30 dollar labor charge, plus shipping one way.

 Heres what i got

cleaned and lubed
new drive gear, no charge
new pinion gear, no charge
new ball bearing, no charge
new quick fire button, no charge
new anti reverse pawl, no charge


    Thank you shimano. Job well done. Super smooth and ready for another 5 years of use. To say the least, I'm a happy shimano fan.

I use calcutta's and do the same .One is so old though ,they don't have parts for it any more .

Yeah, unfortunately they don't stock parts for the original Calcuttas anymore.  But, many other places still stock them.  I have three Calcuttas from the "A" series (150, 250 & 400) and they are still going strong.  Love Shimano reels!
