LS4 Fluke Report
« on: August 16, 2012, 11:19:24 PM »
Took the long ride from Toms River to the Manasquan inlet at first light.  Headed to the local reef and started working on the fluke.  5 keepers and a bunch of shorts.  The day started with too much drift, then it died and had no drift, then it picked back up again leaving the conditions undesirable.

Uncle Luna caught all the keepers as I have some rust in me from lack of fishing.

Highlight:  boat side was a huge Cobia about 6 feed down.  Very cool to see.

Good trip, Nick. I will try it out tomorrow - going solo now. I have heard of some cobia and football BFT's out there. Cool that you saw it.

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Was a nice day fishing with nephew today, have not gotten together much due to his back issue. Fished our butts off 12 hours out there started off with 3 keepers in a row then picked at shorts the rest of the day getting 2 more keepers. Had a blast.
Thanks Nick, now heal up for next week. Lol

This is the first time in 2 years I even attacked the fluke.  Last years back problems set me back from weekly reports.  But now I got a disability retirement, so hopefully next season I will be back in full swing. (crossing fingers)
