For Shore Beach Fishermen
« on: September 07, 2012, 12:33:53 PM »
slt This is the Picket Line at union beach past spring. the first 4 rods are mine the custom rebuilt is in front and yes a Mitchell 306 since retired. The spring and fall fishing here can be red hot, first Stripers invade followed by the Blues. Then the fall has Blues first then the Bass. It can be crowded but never Combat fishing. It became a favorite many years ago for beach and Kayak fishing. The other rods are people I have fished with also many years. And Its where my grandson hooked and landed his First Bass one of many and Blues. Bill

Great Bill tell everybody fcp
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Just kiddin yeah it sucks that you have to get there 4 hours before tide to get a spot. But there is plenty of room if you dont mind walking or getting wet >:D

Great early spring clam spot. Matawan creek makes those grounds come alive due to the amount of warm water being flushed out from that shallow tidal creek into the cold bay. Plenty of other spots around the state the produce just as well for that same reason.
