Just a clarification on the dog issue.  Yes dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash of some sort.

Happy Catching

Still looking forward to this get together. Does anyone want to meet up ahead of time and ride in or need a lift along the way.? Since I'm getting the temp buggy pass I plan on taking full advantage of it by fishing or hanging out ALL day/night until I can't take anymore

My plan was to get my 3 day pass on Friday and take it from there. I have not purchased a pass since I got the boat, I do miss the sunrise from the beach, so Ill be on Gilkins very early on Saturday, you are welcome to join me. I can't seem to find my staun tire deflation set, I guess I'll be airing down the hard way.

A10 is one of the easier walks from the lot.  Those of us with trucks can shuttle anyone that needs it.

That being said, if this storm does what they say, I think reviewing the plans for this event will be neccessary.

Plus after this storm soft sand will be a real threat. I have 33" tires but have buried my jeep to the frame in the past. Not fun digging out

If there is serious beach damage, many areas could have water up to the dunes at high tide.  Areas of the park are often not accessible after something like this.  And as Austin said, the sand can be tough to drive on.

I have to agree with Chris all the way on this one.  The erosion will probably be pretty nasty and  days following the storm the park will most likely be closed.  There are only a hand full of park employees that can be used to clean up afterwords.  I have not heard any rumblings of the NJBBA helping with this either.

As far as the sand or should I day what is left of the sand it will be pretty nasty to drive on as it will be all fluffy like to call it.  If the ocean meets the bay out there count on weeks before the park is open for fishing as well.

With all of that said by ChrisL & ped579, as well as my own past post storm trips to IBSP, then throw in whatever problems people are experiencing in the other areas of the state, it does not look good. nosmly

Just read the mathis bridge eastbound has been declared unsafe for travel.

And Sandy put this in the way if you're thinking of coming from the north.
