It's been a while since I fished that area with the Yak......It's a great place to fish and miss that entire area.....The drive up and back is a little much these day's.
The areas I fish are the ones you said where a wast of time

The drive up is a killer. that' a under statement. The Traffic on weekends is the worst, And I am 20 min. away, Thank god for weekdays.
But right now its not worth the trip unless things get much better on the bass front. They should begin to enter for the winter stay  soon.
will PM you on how and where. Bill

I'm down in Long Branch if your planning a trip. Please let me know. Went out last night, off the jetty in Asbury, stayed till midnight, but not a single hit. Tried some top/medium and bottom, but not even a sea robbin caught. Was surprised by how many people were there though, about 8 off the jetty. No one got a hit, but the surf was fairly rough, and I found a nice cut, that I'm gonna try out, on a better day with the yak. Looks like a nice rip between two sand bars, so I'm gonna go in with some gulp eels, and stir the place up, so to speak.

Keep me posted though, I can make it up to union beach in about 30 mins. Traffic permitting ofcourse.

Cheers

Floatsup My kayaking days are long gone  :'(  But will gladly put you on any spots on The Bay shore. Have you fished any of them.
The Yakers I have talked to so far say its slow. but for one area. but its not for everyone. Perth Amboy under the Rt 35 bridge there is a site right under the bridge in a Park they made there in ( Perth Amboy ), even has picnic tables. and paved parking. a Google Sputnik  search can pin point it.  they drift from the Parkway almost to The Railroad Bridge depending on the Tides go with the flow as they say. this is not a bait area as much as it is trolling. Ever use whats called tube and worm do a search on it. that's one or any diving deep running plug. most important there is water conditions after a rain brown runoff bad a few days of no rain best.
Any further up the Raritan is silt and junk.
To me this is a release area only. no need to explain, This is one of many of about 10 just on the south side of the Raritan River Shore From High Lands to South Amboy That Have perfect Kayak Launching because 1 their free 2 very close or on the waters edge. I fish the beaches at most or do a drive by when bored to see whats hitting.  and as of Saturday 10/20 small Blues,  Spots & sea robins a bass here and there. And guys Ell potting. and brown crabs. peanuts and other baits on the way out and fast. which should attract the attention of bigger Bass and the last blast of big Blues. Good luck Bill

Always willing to give shore support when possible.
Use all and have all Safety gear with you water is cooling fast.

Thanks OverBite

I normally don't travel up that far, but my Grand parents live over in Sarayville, so I may it a point to check it out. Im grew up over in Fords for a time so I'm fairly familiar with the area your talking about.

Cheers M8.
