What kind of fish is this ? Bass ?

Fish On
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

First place is usually decided by the heaviest fish. Most of the time, a largemouth bass wins each division, but I've seen sunfish and pickerel win a few trophies, too. My little girl won a couple of years ago with a 15 or 16-inch pickerel, so it's not just a bass tournament.

There are some hefty bass in there! Many years back, I took my personal best at 8 pounds. The lake receives a lot more attention now. There are still some big bass around, they're just a little tougher to catch.

This really is a nice little event for the kids.
