Irish Ayes Striper Limit 10-22-12
« on: October 22, 2012, 04:49:50 PM »
Fished yesterday (Sunday) with Jim, Johnny Oz and Andy. After hours of searching and trying many different spots and methods we got zip, except for one bluefish. At least we missed the skunk. Had to watch the Steeler's game last evening so there was a lack of time and energy to write a report.  ;D

Today, Bob G and Naked Eddie joined me for a day out. Wanted to get an 8am start and arrived at the boat to a blow out tide. The Irish Ayes was sitting on the bottom waiting for the water to come back in. Approximately an hour later we had enough water to float the boat. An hour late, ugh. Adding to the late start was the fact that we had to fuel up. Fourty gallons later and we are finally under way.

Made the trip north looking for anything promising but found nothing. Stopped near the Red Church and started towing umbrella rigs with shads on them. Set our first line and was putting pole two in the water when pole one bends over. Bob G brings in a thirty-two inch bass. One on ice!

Get both lines out this time with Naked Eddie up at bat. Line two goes down and Eddie cranks in a short, taping out at 25 inches.

We continued working this area and iced five more keepers with the largest guestimated at about fifteen pounds. Limit for us and it's now 1 PM.

Back to the barn to give Irish Ayes a rest for the next trip. Boat cleaned, fish cleaned and hit the road for an early arrival home.

Planning to be back out on Wednesday or Thursday.  t^

nice job joe
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

40-50 ft.

Same area all day. Another boat trolled past us, hooked up with a fish and after landing it continued on to the north. Don't know why he didn't hang out to try for another fish.  5hrug Only logical that if you get one fish there is a good possibility that there are more in the area.  Suits me though, we had the whole place to ourselves.  t^

Nice going Joe and crew.  They are around but not to much chatter.  Best thing is to get out there and kick the tires to see what turns up.  If your waiting to hear chatter on the cell forget about it. fngr  Not many talking about this Fall seasons catch.

They're here so get out there, and don't forget the surf same thing... TT^

Happy Catching
