Headed out into sloppy seas with Capt Joe today to target stripers. Joining us were Jim and Tom. We stopped on some bird action right outside Shark River Inlet but couldn't get bit. Tries a few other spots before we broke out the trolling gear. We trolled up a couple of big blues and a short bass before heading north.
The seas laid down and the trolling rods never got used for the rest of the day, as we found fairly consistent action on jigs. We had stripers up to about 25 lbs and a lot of big bluefish. (Jim's favorite
). Tom had the jigging action down and landed his first stripers ever!
Another great day on the Irish Ayes! Thanks Joe.
