Hunter 2 Report 10,25,2012 evening
« on: October 26, 2012, 05:59:19 AM »
Steve "Mass Baster" and I started drifting eels in all the usual spots on the outside of Sandy hook at 6:15pm. We did not get one hit. I made several moves and covered plenty of bottom.
I know the fish are further south but I did not want to make that long run on a work night .    We witnessed a 28' boat beach itself onto Sandy Hook while heading north at night  cfzd. He nearly took out some surf fishermen.  I guess he never updated his GPS because that area shows to be underwater on the older charts.

On the way back to Keyport we made some drifts in 3 ft of water off Union  beach with no takers.
Perhaps we should of tried the inside by the highlands bridge? :headscra:
Good luck and be safe the next few days with the storm approaching.
                   Eddie.

Good try Eddie.

But ya know, when you put "skunk" in the report title, it kinda gives away the rest of the story  ttp

there is a buoy right next to the single stick tower on the triangle that used to produce very well for me with eels.. I would always drift the triangle from one end to the other and back..

Saw a boat beached between the 11 and 13 bouys...but he was facing south like he cut the hook after the 13 to head south instead of coming out 1 more bouy to the 11
