Gov"s Surf Fishing Tournament Oct 7th, IBSP
« on: September 09, 2007, 01:31:27 AM »
Hi All,

Is anyone entering the tournament on Oct. 7th.  I was thinking about entering and wondered if anyone else was entering.

To enter before hand all applications must be in by Sept 14th and will cost you $10.00.  Or you can pay $15.00 the day of the tourney.

I am sending mine in today.  I have room in my veh for 1 or 2 other people so if you are thinking about entering and don't have a ride PM me and maybe we can set something up for that day.

The Schedule:

Fishing------------6:30AM - 1:00PM
Raffle Drawing-----1:30PM - 2:00PM
Awards Ceremony----2:00PM

So if your interested let me know soon.  And Pre register, as the line is long the day of the tourney.  Registration is open at 5:00AM day of the tourney.

Happy Catching

Paul

It's a shame you can't make both bayonne.  Fluke, second place, nice.  I wonder if they will have that category this year with the season closed after today.  Nice bluefish too.  t^

They probably still have the catagory because you can catch and release by measuring right on the spot as long as you have a witness.

Hi Bayonne,

Sorry I don't know the troop number. I donate to my friend's Region. Do you know Bob Tweer?

The invote came from Ethan Draddy, Jersey Shore Scouting. I am not sure how this all works.

Thanks for the info. I sent a PM with some info for you.

Best wishes,

Ed

Yeah, I'll be there wearing my hat and shirt. TT^

I was thinking about getting my clams early like the day before.  Putting them in fresh saltwater over night and letting them purge for the 7th.

Overnight in a bucket of saltwater is too long. The clams will consume all of the oxygen in the water and die. About 20 min. should be enough to purge the sand out of the clams. Then put them in a cooler with ice packs to keep them cool. Don't put them on ice, the fresh water will also kill them. Fresh clams are the best, but I've also caught Bass with dead clams, stinky clams, salted clams, and frozen clams. <'((((><

Hi Fishin Dude,

I also used salted clams and seem to do well with them.  I will probably like you said put them in a plastic bag and put an ice pack on them over night.  I for got about leaving them too long in a bucket.  Thanks for the reminder.
