Many are still without power.

I was among the fortunate, I had damage to my aluminum shed at my mobile home and no other damage. And my power stayed on here throughout. Still counting my blessings.

People around here are spending up to three hours in line to buy gas for the generators. I'm pulling gas out of the boat tomorrow. I should have about five days of gas in it. As of today's call from the OEM, we could be looking at another 7-10 days without power. If I knew how this storm worked out for me, I would have hooked up the RV and took a week in Florida. But who know it would have just been no power at home and work.

Missed a generator by 5 min last night at HD  thud. Oh we'll go a try again today....got up at 4:30 this morning to get in the gas line and had fuel by 8:00.  Not bad.   No complaints  sooo many have it much worse and or lost everything ... We just all need to band together and get through this

You didn't hear this from me, but I just called my source at JCP&L to find out the 7-10 days they are telling us is just to give us a number. He said if they came out to fix the broken wires in front of your house it will take a long time to get back power. They have so many transmission problems; they can't get the power out of the woods to the streets. He told me at least a week.

Just had time now to say I hope everyone is coping as best as possibly

First...the very bad news...my parent's house was devastated...the foundation caved in and there was flooding 2ft into the main level of the their home. They also had wind damage. My father almost drowned - not kidding. He was in the basement trying to shore up the sump pump when the back wall caved in...surreal........and it was truly a miracle he is living.

The Linden FD rescued my parents (75 and 80 years old) at 5:30 am on Tuesday. Just amazing that they stayed in cold water, no power, not knowing how high the water was going to rise etc. Called 911 a few times and it took 8 hours to get to them.

They were taken to a shelter where we picked them up around 2 pm on Tuesday. The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army have been great...they are staying with me and they are safe now. I am still without power and probably out until Wednesday...

FEMA has been good so far...the NJ Man Insurance Company has not...I will not get into details however they would not even (at first) come to look at the damage.

Some good news...of course the best good news is my parents are alive!!!

My boat was on blocks...got knocked off...and has some damage. I have a claim in with BOAT US...saltwater in the fuel, engines etc. We will see how that goes.

As bad as my parents have it (lost pretty much everything they owned for 45+ years)...other people have lost the lives and some can't find their homes, loved ones, boats etc.

Things can only get better from here - and will we all get through this diaster...

Looking forward to getting my Dad out for some striper fishing to get his mind off of this mess.
