what you do is, drive around the tip of the hook.. You will see the rips.  There will be a huge difference of the surface of the water on both sides of the rip.  Ya can't miss it.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

If I recall right, it is south of the 12 bouy in the Sandy Hook channel.  I haven't been there in about ten years though.  But that is what I can remember.  As others have said.  You round the tip of the hook and continue in the channel, the rips will be just south of the channel.

number 11 bouy and south about 150 yards. you can usually see the line where the rips start.  I was out there for 6 hrs last friday with no bass but some real nice blues.....will try again sat. for the out going tide.

Thanks for the proper info Makokeith.  I had the right area but the wrong side of the channel.

there 2 rips inner rip and the outer rip. most poeple fish the outer rip. Just make sure once you done with your drift drive around in a big circle not in the rip so you dont scare the fish or dont Pee everyone off there fishing it. start you drift on the opposite side of the rip you drift is going, drift right through the rip go another 300 ft past it then make the big circle around it to start another drift.
