a few brief words on LABS Passing 4-10-13
« on: April 11, 2013, 08:50:21 AM »
well it was a long sad day for me so finally getting around here to post

yesterday I lost my best friend and fishing right hand, Mike M. WElls, AKA LAB / LIFES A BEACH, to the actions of a Long Branch SCUMBAG, and God PLEASE let this POS get captured.....

though he wasnt a member here many of you know him and the person he was... he was only not a member here because he felt loyal to another site and being a moderator there that was just his reason, nothing else.....

Mike was KING of the BALLBUSTERS and a great person deep down....

I will miss him deeply and take his death to my grave.... not only did I and many others lose him on 4-10-13, but it was the 5th annaversery of the death of my buddy Capt Victor, which is so hard to imagine...

well i felt he should be mentioned here and will relay arragment info as i get it from the family for those who would like to know....

R.I.P. Mikey.... :'(

So Sorry to hear that Tom, always enjoyed seeing those picture's from the TNT with you guys. I can remember talking to him at the Highlands marina as he cleaned the fish you caught with my nephew Nick. You guys were a team just as me and Luna Sea are. Condolences to his family and yourself. RIP

So sorry for this incredible loss Tom...

I ran into Mikey a bunch of times while at the Monger, only knowing him briefly over the last couple of years...

Mike was the real deal and a high energy guy.. the kinda guy that you get to know right away...

First time I met Mike..after 15 minutes of conversation about our dogs he comes back with a bag full of cow leg bones that he was bringing home to his dogs and says here...take these...that was after knowing him for 15 minutes!...pretty cool and a great testament to the kind of man he was..

I'll miss bumping into Mike this summer for sure..

Rest easy Mike........

I don't post much but felt I had to today. I met Mike several times, the first time on the dock in Belmar. Mike came right up to me to ask me about my dog I had with me and we had a long conversation about dogs and fishing. Fished with him several times the funniest was on the Mimi. I was the only lady on the boat and I think Mike forgot I was there. He proceed to tell some jokes that were let's say a little harsh. He couldn't say sorry quick enough when he realized I could hear him. Rest in peace - Fair winds and following seas.......................

Very disturbing to hear and read about this tragedy.
Never met the man, but I know he touched many lives.

Sorry for your loss Tom. I always enjoyed reading your reports fishing with the Bow Monkey.

Rest in Peace Mike.

Keeping his family and friends in prayer right now.

Very upsetting...  I never met Mike but always heard nothing but good things about him.  I am sorry Tom.  This date has been a very tough one for you.  My thoughts are with you, his friends and family.

I met Mike (LAB) once down by the Voyager after a offshore trip. He was their with his dogs. We talked a little about fishing and his dogs, which were beautiful dogs and you could tell he loved them like his own kids. Very humble and funny, knowlegable about fishing. Never got the privilege of fishing with him. Hearing and seeing pictures. The guy will go down as a legend in the fishing community. I pray they catch the animal who is responsible. Tight lines in Heaven!

Fisherman's Prayer

God grant that I may live to fish

For another shining day,

But when my final cast is made

I then most humbly pray,

When nestled in your landing net

As I lay peacefully asleep,

You'll smile at me and judge

That I'm "good enough to keep."

Rest in Peace Brother!
