Kayak is home
« on: April 30, 2013, 08:16:31 PM »
Well i drove down to brick today to pick up my kayak, pretty sweet. got home was taking it to the lake and then there it was.i noticed the backrest for the seat was never drilled into the base. and one of the foot pegs was broken. rgmn called them up but i have to wait till to omorrow. it took me a hour and a half to get there and 2 hours to get home. i hope they drive it to me i am tired of new BROKEN stuff.
But i am very happy that i have it. i can wait a few more days. if i have too.
 Will post pictures later.

Sorry about that Dale.  Maybe they can upgrade the seat to a high back one for the trouble you are going through...  Worth a try.

Called this morning, spoke to the owner John, he put me in touch with a service guy, he told me that if he has to he will drive up to me to drill the holes. I asked him if they could just ship me a new one over nite and ill send the one back with the ups guy.
I am waiting for them to call me back he said about a hour, then i will ask them if they can upgrade my seat for the Inconvenience.

I just got a phone call from jersey paddler. Pat just told me he dropped off a brand new seat to his shipping guy and they are overnighting me a new complete seat. i did ask about upgrading it, he has informed me that is the best seat they have for the wilderness?
So i may have a complete kayak tomorrow. yea....

Anyone want to call out sick on friday and go striper fishing. First time for me.

Thanks Pat. clp clp clp clp clp

I will do.
Cant wait till the seat comes in. never realised how much money you spend on the little things, plano boxes, clips, rings, etc... also purchased a waterproof box for phone and wallet & a small dry bag just enough to keep a change of cloths.

Going to lowes tonight to purchase some pvc pipe to make holders for the plano boxes. seen it at the show some gut made his, light weight and easy.
any ideas?

Seat made it hear  finally . So it is time to fabricate. Will post pictures tomorrow of yak and with all fabrications.

Subject about lights (led) for deck area. Does anyone do night fishing a lot that can say it is worth installing.

Glad to hear your seat problem is cleared up.  I don't do night fishing in the kayak but Kayak-1 does a lot of it.  I am sure he hill chime in shortly.

The less you have on the kayak, the better off you will be......Find a good head lamp and your set.

Scotty makes a light for night fishing from a Yak which I have had on mine for 6 years.

Kayak-1
The areas I fish are the ones you said where a wast of time

There ya go Dale.  I use a head lamp on the beach it has 4 settings; red, low white flood light, spot light and all leds on.

Mine has lasted for 5 to 6 years as well.

Mine is great on the beach as the red does not mess up your night vision.

Happy Catching

Well i took the Kayak out today on our lake. i have to say i have learned alot.
1) when you paddle the water runs down the shaft past the rings and your legs get wet.
2) i had issues with anchor trolly getting caught up in fishing pole. lesson learned.
3) i did find myself moving slow because when the yak leaned i counterd it.
4)the back end of yak more water comes in the scupper holes then anywhere else.
5) launching and returning was easy enough, a little nervous about scrathing bottom.
6) caught a ton of fish had a blast and i will re configure my gear and try again tomorrow.

i want to go for bluefish.
