weak fish barnegate bay

 ;D hello all here,s the scoop went back to the out flow around noon time wed 5/1/13 to stretch the dog and myself, 3rd cast whamm!!!!!  10 pnd weakie,dozen caught,2 blues, 1 fluke,all caught on finesse,catch and release, left them biteing,going back tonight will send report if needed

Nice going on the weakies.  I knew as soon as the geotubes were gone from the inlet the weakfish would pick right up.  It goes to show you mother nature knows how to take care of her own.

Nice going on the weakies.  I knew as soon as the geotubes were gone from the inlet the weakfish would pick right up.  It goes to show you mother nature knows how to take care of her own.

As much as the Bay is torn up, filled in with sand and full of debris right now, I wondered if Sandy may actually help some of the problem!  Garbage and debris pollution have never been the main issues; they are fixable.  Pollution from storm water and runoff compounded on top of poor tidal circulation is the biggest issue.  Here's to hoping Sandy made some positive change and with the increased awareness and steps to curb pesticide and fertilizer pollution, maybe the Barnegat will be on its way to turning around 5hrug ;D.

Hopefully we see that in our lifetime. I grew up in the bay's salt marshes and witnessed the decline first hand.
