Umbrella ?
« on: September 27, 2007, 09:29:06 PM »
This will be my first year trolling Umbrella rigs for Bass and Blues..I've got a few shad rigs and some tubes already..I also have a couple of wire outfits ready to go and several outfits with braid that I will use with drails to get down... The question I have is should I use a mono leader between the wire and the umbrella? If so, how long and how heavy? Any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated!

6'-8' Piece of 80LB. would serve in this case only to absorb shock, no stretch in the braid, more risk of a line snap, if no type of shock leader in place.

I use a 12-16' 60-80 lb test Floro-Carbon Leader.........works great and if the leader gets nicked by the rig by Blues you can cut it down and still have plenty left TT^
