Mooring in Shark River

Hi all, Does anyone know the laws, etc. regarding mooring a boat in Shark River? I see a few out there.

I'd check the charts. Generally "ancorage" areas are marked on them. But, to answer your question, I don't have a clue.

I am sure if you are not in the channel and hooked up properly with all mooring lights going all night you should be okay but don't quote me on that one I have been out of boating and a surf rat for too many years.  When in doubt check Chapman's.

I've always wanted to sail. So I was thinking one of the many bargains I've seen in sailboats would allow me to moor it in the river and switch between my powerboat and sail,  without paying for two docks. Maybe drop a cast iron radiator  with some chain on it and switch. I'd guess there are old laws that govern  this type of activity.
