Was able to leave work a bit early today and take my daughter who is visiting from Pittsburgh out for a short fluke trip. Pulled out of the marina about 3pm and soon we were fishing on the knoll. Maggie hooked the first fish, a short but the action was slow. We tried bait and bucktails and the bait seemed to worked better. As the western sky was darkening with storm clouds, Maggie hooks into and lands our only keeper. I did have a little excitement when we drifted through a pod of bunker that had some bass swirling. I snagged and dropped, had a fish on for a few minutes an it was gone. Our final count was 6 shorts, one keeper and a big skate. Back at the dock by 5:30.
