The first weekend of July looks to be decent.  With a continued southerly flow it is going to be hazy, hot and humid, but overall dry with more sun than clouds.  There is a low chance of scattered or more likely isolated showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon to evening hours this weekend due to the temperatures and humidity.  However, those chances are very low with Sunday having the higher chances (still low).  Inland high temperatures will be in the low to mid 90's with high humidity causing heat indices to reach upper 90's and 100's!  Temperatures along/on the water will be in the mid 80's with upper 70's and low 80's out on the water.  Water conditions are rated good for Inshore waters with the potential of some wind gusts 20-25 knots and waves could stack up around 6 seconds on ocean waters.  Midshore to Offshore waters will have cautious conditions on Saturday improving to good conditions on Sunday, but still just below cautious criteria.  Water temperatures are holding steady, all except for surf temperatures.  Bays and rivers are in the mid to upper 70's.  Inshore and Midshore to Offshore ocean waters are in the low 70's, with inshore waters slightly cooler due to the southerly swell and cold water upwelling.  Surf temperatures are low in the mid 50's to low 60's for many areas due to the southern swell and cold water upwelling.  Surf and beach conditions looks good with normal to slightly elevated conditions and Moderate Risks of rip currents.  UV Index will be Very High all weekend as well.  The weather looks to be nice, I hope everyone is able to take advantage of it.  Have a great weekend!

Bermuda High Pressure will remain stationary centered off the coast of the Mid Atlantic through the weekend into early next week.

Next week looks to start off okay then becoming more unsettled with the high pressure pulling away and frontal boundaries starting to cross the area.  This will bring some rain and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will remain in the 90's in the beginning of the week with and then mid to upper 80's later in the week.  Water conditions look good all week for Inshore Waters.  Midshore to Offshore will vary by day, with some cautious conditions moving in on Tuesday.  Surf and beach conditions look normal to moderate.

The National Hurricane Center is watching a broad area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico that at minimum could bring a lot of tropical moisture up the East Coast yet again.

Another nice day, especially if you like hazy, hot and humid.  High temperatures today will reach mid 90's inland with high humidity bringing heat indices into the 100's.  There are Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings for most of NJ.  Areas along/on the water will see much cooler temperatures in the low to mid 80's.  Lows overnight only into the low to mid 70's.  It's mostly sunny right now, but clouds will build during the day.  Overall, it should remain dry across the state, but there is a chance of an isolated or scattered shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon and into the evening.

Water conditions look good for all Inshore waters, but Midshore to Offshore will see some cautious conditions due to gusty winds and elevated seas this afternoon.  Raritan Bay will have SW winds 5-10 knots increasing 10-15 knots in the afternoon and diminishing 5-10 knots tonight.  Seas will increase from 1 foot or less to 1-2 feet before subsiding tonight back to 1 foot or less.  Barnegat Bay will have WSW winds changing to SW winds from 9-12 knots today and seas 1 foot or less.  Delaware Bay will have SW winds 5-10 knots increasing to 10-15 knots with gusts to 20 knots with seas 1-2 feet.  Inshore ocean waters from Manasquan Inlet to Barnegat Inlet will have WSW winds to 10-13 knots with 2 foot seas at 14 seconds.  Inshore ocean waters from Barnegat Inlet to Cape May will have WSW/SW winds 10-13 knots with 3 foot seas at 5 seconds.  Midshore to Offshore waters will have WSW winds to 20 knots and seas 4 feet at 5 seconds.

Surf and beach conditions look normal to elevated with a Moderate Risk of rip currents today.  Winds and surf are fairly calm at 5 mph from the west with 1-2 foot surf.  Winds will increase and change to the SW at 10-15 mph and surf could get rough increasing wave heights to around 3 feet with a 3 foot south swell at 15 seconds.  UV Index is Very High at 10/15.

Enjoy your weekend and tomorrow looks like a repeat of today with a slightly higher chance of showers or thunderstorms.

Good morning!  Another hazy, hot and humid day.  Right now mostly sun mixing with some clouds and temperatures already in the mid 80's for most places.  Inland high temperatures will continue into the low to mid 90's today with areas along/on the water seeing low to mid 80's.  High humidity again today causing heat indices into the upper 90's and 100's.  Heat Advisories and Heat Warnings are active for most of NJ excluding the southern part of the state.  There is a low chance of scattered or isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon to evening with those chances increasing into the night.  Some storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds, dangerous lightning and heavy rains.  The SPC puts Northern NJ in a 5% Risk for damaging winds today.

Water conditions are rated good for all locations.  Northern ocean waters are seeing a longer period swell at around 13-14 seconds while Southern ocean waters are still seeing a shorter period swell at 8 seconds.  Although, this is improved over 5-6 seconds yesterday.  Raritan Bay will have SW winds 5-10 knots increasing to 10-15 knots in the afternoon and then diminishing again to 5-10 knots at night with seas 1 foot or less.  Barnegat Bay will have SW winds 10-13 knots with seas 1 foot or less.  Delaware Bay will have SW winds 10-15 knots with seas 1-2 feet.  Inshore ocean waters from Sandy Hook to Barnegat Inlet will have WSW/SW winds 9-12 knots with seas 2 feet at 13-14 seconds.  Inshore Ocean waters from Barnegat Inlet to Cape May will have WSW/SW winds 10-15 knots with seas 2-3 feet at 5-8 seconds.  Midshore to Offshore waters will have WSW/SW winds 12-17 knots with seas initially 4 feet at 5 seconds subsiding to 3 feet at 13 seconds.

Surf and beach looks good with normal conditions and a Low Risk of rip currents.  Right now winds are light and variable from southeast to westerly winds around 5 mph.  Winds will increase and change to the SW at 10-15 mph with 2 foot waves and a 2 foot southeast swell at 9 seconds.  UV Index Very High at 9/15.

There are 2 areas in the tropics the NHC is watching.  One will probably just bring tropical moisture into the states and one of these will likely become a named tropical cyclone within the next few days.  Both will be something that needs to be watched!

Have a great Sunday and enjoy the nice, but hot weather.  Next week will become more unsettled and looks to be decently wet again!
