Roosters Flukin 7-4
« on: July 04, 2013, 07:11:49 PM »
Southwest winds, cloudy sky with a calm bay made for good drifting conditions on Flynn's Knoll this Fourth of July morning. As Tom set the Roosters up on our first drift the short Fluke started coming over the gunnels. Soon we both had a keeper to 18" on board when a large Fluke hooked up on Tom's lightweight rod and was soon netted. Tom likes to return big breeders like this one and after getting a measure of over 26" it went back to fight another day.
Our good luck did not hold, as there were no more keepers for us. The Knoll at 16' depth seems to hold a lot of fish including the dogs, Skates and ever present Sea Robins. Thankfully no yellow-eyed demons were around and Bunker schools were there too. Pete
