After having the Irish Ayes being out of action for a week and a half with a bad fuel pump I was finally able to get it repaired and get back in the game.
Thursday; Me, Bob G and Peter retrieved the boat from my mechanic and did a test run. Good to have the Irish Ayes back to normal. We fished for approximately three hours and pulled seven keeper fluke and many shorts that we sent back to the nursery.
Friday it was me, Lenny, Dave, Naked Eddie, Jeff and Jack out for another round of fluking.
We set up our first drift in 35' of water off the Red Church. Picked a few keepers and shorts in a slow drift condition and made a more to deeper water when the bites slowed down.
Went out to 55' and put the lines in. Immediately had four fluke on at once and boated. All keepers with the shortest being 19".
Continued on this spot making short drifts for the duration.
Got back to the dock with 15 healthy (when we caught them anyway
) fluke to clean.
Hope to be back at them Sunday.
