A bit unsettled weather pattern this week, but overall the weather, temperatures and water conditions will be good. While the weather will be slightly unsettled, there is nothing major or dramatic taking place this week. It should be a typical Summer Week with typical Summer Weather. High temperatures inland will be seasonable in the mid to upper 80’s with low 80 along/on the water. Overnight lows will range from mid 60’s to low 70’s. Overall, air will be drier with dew points in the 50’s and 60’s and humidity normal for this time of year. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday Night through Thursday overnight, clearing out for Friday Morning. These will be lower chances with mostly isolated or scattered storms. Sun over clouds will prevail this week. Water conditions are rated good for all locations with no indication of conditions nearing or reaching Small Craft Advisory levels. Winds will vary this week out of the west-northwest, northwest and south. Winds will be calm most days under 10 knots with Thursday picking up to 15 knots. Seas will run around 5 feet for Midshore to Offshore areas on Monday subsiding to 2-3 feet during the week. Inshore seas will run 2-3 feet all week. Water temperatures have cooled off by a few degrees. All areas could see a long period swell up 14 seconds on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Rivers and bays are in the upper 70’s. Inshore ocean waters are in the low 70’s. Midshore to Offshore waters are in the mid to upper 70’s. Surf temperatures are in the low 70’s. Surf and beach conditions look good. There is a chance of higher surf with an elevated, long period swell on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that could bring Moderate to High Risk of rip currents. UV Index will be Very High all week.
High pressure will build into the area for Monday and Tuesday and then move offshore on Wednesday. A boundary to the south will move northward toward the area on Thursday. Low pressure will develop along this boundary and then move across the southern parts of the region on Thursday Night and move east of the area on Friday. Weak high pressure will then build in for the end of the week/weekend.
The weekend looks like it will be a continuation of the week again with some slightly higher temperatures reaching the upper 80’s inland and low to mid 80’s along/on the water with overnight lows in the 70’s. Saturday Night will be a slight chance of isolated or scattered showers and thunderstorms, but the rest of the weekend looks sunny right now. Water conditions and surf and beach conditions look good as well, with nothing obvious standing out.
The NHC is still watching the remnants of TS Dorian and an area off of New England. This is not really a concern to our area or even the US right now.
Have a great week!
