8/1 and 8/2
« on: August 03, 2013, 10:02:06 AM »
I wish my report was as good as Paul-e and Kenny but, I guess I should've zigged when I zagged....

8/1 out in not so favorable conditions with my sister (seems to always work out that way when she fishes).... Headed to SGR in the slop. Fishes out there until the after noon change in wind kicked in and it looked ready to storm. Decided to move inside just in case the weather turned and we weren't caught with our pants down. Made a stop at the inlet bouy and found a hole that produced something on every drift. Stayed there until storm clouds surrounded us and seas becane 3+ and wind blew 20+  ended the day with only one legal fluke and plenty action on shorts and trash fish. Good day with the sis as usual reminiscing about old fluke fishing times with our old man.

8/2 out with friend Adam. Broke the inlet to beautiful conditions (wished we were heading offshore). Headed northto AAsbury and setup on a very slow drift. Instantly came on with a keeper sea bass, keeper fluke and even a small blue. That bite didn't last long. Went farther up the beach to do some "praying". By now the drift was nearly non existent. We toughed it out and caught some shorts. Tried closer to the beach and it was the same thing. Went back to spot one and power drifted for a few more shorts. Headed over to the SGR to a better drift..... Shorts again. Last stop the inlet bouy and more shorts. Ended the day with only our first few keepers.

 t^ still got out there
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Always nice to be out on the water, have some rod bending action, and put something in the box for dinner.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><
