Fished aboard the Atlantic Star 10-1
« on: October 01, 2007, 06:47:18 PM »
Yesterday one of my fishing buddies called and invited me to go weakfishing aboard the Sea Fox, Atlantic Highlands today. Well, we got to the marina and the Sea Fox was gone. ( went to the canyon for tuna last night )Next time I'll check myself . So reluctantly. I went with him aboard the Atlantic Star. I'd have rather went aboard the Fishermen with Capt. Ron, ( I hope he did'nt see me on the other boat). Well I caught over 60 short sea bass , 20+ sea robins, and 2 short porgies, and 4 keeper porgies. Guess that's better then the skunk. ??? <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Good report Fishin Dude.  It's always best to do these things yourself.  That way you know it will get done right.

As far as your trip went.  What you caught was a lot better than most reports that I have read...including my own.   TT^

Thanks CaptBob, I also read the Fishermen report. OUCH! :'( The Fishermen is the only boat I go on up there, but I bowed to peer pressure and missed it. <'((((><

Yup, the Fisherman had a boat limit of stripers yesterday fishing down by the Rocks. They even returned 30 minutes early. I believe they were clamming as opposed to jigging.

Since the Sea Fox was mentioned in the original post, anyone else hear that they were boarded and throughly searched when they returned from their canyon run on Sunday.

Sea Fox in trouble is what I was told.  I know the rumors are running rampant, but nothing good came out of the boarding.

Hate to hear of any bad things happening on the boats. I have in the past fished aboard the Sea Fox and had a great time, caught fish, and was treated great by the Captian and crew. Best of luck to them all. <'((((><

Did hear some rumors re the Sea Fox yesterday but they were unconfirmed.

Supposedly there is some info on the Coast Guard's website. Once I find it I'll post a link/copy.

Funny how i stumble across these old ass threads. Capt.Donnie was a good friend of mine back in the old days.He got caught up in a tail spin and couldnt grab hold of the rope to pull himself out.

We have all made mistakes, yes some r worse then others and the blame falls solely on that person.
From what i understand he doin better but that would be his choice, just hoping he's making the correct ones.

I'm down in the area for a 3-day weekend, and can't decide who I want to go out with. Hoping the reports on all the boats are decent... but no captains have been posting! :) Wish me luck!
