Sorry for late report, been little exhausted last few days..on 8/11 I had Josh, Mike , Paul and Brad out for a open boat bluefin run. We left the dock right at 3:15 am and made the run out in a sloppy conditions .. We mark some fish high in the water column.. I put the spread and few minutes into the troll .. Bamm, we are tight on a screamer on the line.. Funny part no one steps up to the plate.. Finally, I got Josh on the line for bait before bamm. The second fish is tight, but after a few long runs comes unbutton.
We finally got the first one into the but 46.5 " fin. After a few moves another line gets hammered. And we boat another 42 inch fish, which was released.. We had a few knock downs but not takers.. I add some moves and we had a mako come up in the spread twice. But thankfully he didn't take any hardware.. Finally we popped to small fins again before heading home..interesting crew though.. Paul was from South Africa and Brad was Louisiana .. So amazing how the Open boat builds crews.
