The day that never happened.
« on: September 02, 2013, 06:30:06 PM »
Work for the past week on the boat to get it set up to try my hand at some bluefin fishing. (I've never attempted this on my own boat). 5:45am on the boat and we are off. Get to the inlet and couldn't even see to the ocean the fog was so thick. Figure I would drift for fluke until it lifts. (Caught 2 shorts) now it's 9:00am and it hasn't lifted it's just gotten worse. I rather be a little over cautious then see something happen. So hopefully we will get to try another run soon.

Good call. I ran 20 miles in soup one day. Wasn't fun even with radar

Better safe than sorry. There's always another trip. BFT seem to be my achiles heel too.

Where in Brick are you at? I am at the Manasquan River Club.

Welcome!

Fred, fishing the "Kristy Marie" from Manasquan River Club. Channels 16/67/68.

Not having radar on the boat yet made my decision an easy one. That is going to get put on this winter. I was going to have it done after last season but the storm messed that plan up.

I'm at MRC as well

Always better safe than sorry. Sea conditions outside the inlet have not been nice all weekend.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><
