Went down to the Marina to finish cleaning out the bilge. Bilge pump wouldn't shut off the other day because the float was gunked up with sludge. Tried to get it done yesterday afternoon but ran out of time. Finally refastened the deck down around noon. Brought a couple rods with us, Why Not. Oh Crap forgot the net
Made are way out to the candle sticks. wind was mild & chop was minimal. not much to report. Headed over to the A channel with a outgoing tide. we were drifting over 3 mph. Moved over between the channels still to fast. Found some slower drift about half way down the channel in 80 feet of water. got two keepers quick then nothing. reset and tried again. Then the wind started to blow. what was nice 2 foot waves quickly turned to 3-5'
The only nice thing was it was blowing against the current and it slowed us down to a nice 1-1.5 mph drift. Fish after fish for the next 20 minutes or so. pops couldn't even stay on his feet with the waves. Motored back in around 4 at the dock by 5. Pretty good half day. Total was 6 keepers and about 20 shorts and a couple robins as usual.
