Hard to believe it's been 12 years.

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."

I was working deck fishing Rockaway that morning. Could not believe what was going down. One of our customers onboard lost his wife in South Tower.
I found out a friend of mine was woking at the clean up/Search of ground zero as an iron worker and placed a call. He cut me 2 crosses from an I Beam out of South Tower. One went to my customer and I keep the other one as a memory of the Towers and as a memorial to those lost. I grew up not far from the towers and as a kid they were my favorite buildings EVER!
Used to take class field trips to them every year.
Each year I take my cross out and say a little prayer for those lost.
Its crazy how 12 yrs later, when ever I see a plane is overhead going to or from Kennedy airport, I watch it in suspect and instantly get reminded of that days events.
God Bless

I was working in Elizabeth near the airport and actually watched the second plane fly into the south tower...then watched as they both came down....I will never forget that day..

itsa tough day for sure I was working at a diesel shop in belford, we were listening to Stern after the 2nd plane we went to ideal beach and watched the mayhem. I was coaching Marlboro Pop Warner at the time and we lost several parents. I spent 2 weeks 2 blocks from ground zero cooking for the rescue workers my aunt owns Ihops and donated all the food we cooked.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
