12 pound fluke of a lifetime

So out yesterday on a private charter on the MiJo, great captain and crew. Third drop of the day and I think I'm snagged, using a 2 oz Uncle Josh swinging hook bucktail with 6" chartreuse gulp grub curly tail. But.....it starts coming up......no real fight, relatively shallow water maybe 20 feet. All of the sudden it runs! Crank away and low and behold.......12 pounder as weighed at the tackle box by Phil! Entered into the dreamboat contest for The Fisherman! Thanks to Dee for her awesome netting skills! It probably would have thrown the hook if it had not been the swinging type!

Nice catch. You're probably right about how the swing hook came into play which a lot of fisherman don't understand. It does allow for the head shake and ability to stay hooked vs. the fish being ably to shake off the fixed hook. If you were in the FishNBoat.com tournament, you'd be in the lead too I believe.
