10-18-13 ocean report
« on: October 19, 2013, 11:12:19 PM »
Jersey Joe and I joined our friend Mike in Manasquan for a trip on his Newley acquired Regulator 26FS. It's a sweet ride for sure. We broke the inlet pretty late around 11am and head north and started trolling around Long branch.  All we caught here was a shad. thd.  I spoke to Irish Ayes Capt. Joe and got a report of more promising action further north. We tried jigging and trolling by the rocks.  Marking fish but no takers.
Around 1pm the south wind started  :P, we shot out pretty darn fast to the mud buoy to the fleet. Most of the party boats already head for the barn but the private boats were still here.  Plenty of readings everywhere but nothing would take our offerings.  We decided to head back to Manasquan and look for signs of life on the way.  We came across a big black whale swimming around but that was it.
We called it a day but still had a nice time checking out
Mikes new ride. t^
    Good luck everyone..   Eddie

Hey Eddie was that a big black whale or the guys that were hunting ducks in the floating blind think their called a sneaker boat cfzd they were about 3/4of a mile off just south of Shark River inlet. I thought it was a dead whale floating around at first until I got closer to it  TT^
