This weekend will be more stable, so weather-wise it will be more sun than clouds and dry. Highs will continue in the 50’s to low 60’s with overnight lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Winds will be low to moderate on Saturday, gusty on Saturday Night and back to low to moderate on Sunday. Water conditions will not be so lucky! With high pressure departing and an approaching cold front, a pressure gradient will setup over the area on Saturday Night into Sunday with northwest winds 15-20 knots with gusts to 25-30 knots and seas up to 5 feet. Small Craft Advisories are likely during the time. Winds will be gusty Saturday Day and Sunday as well, but below SCA criteria. Surf and beach conditions look good to ok, with just some gusty winds Saturday Night. Surf will not be too affected by the winds. Water temperatures are dropping with rivers and bays into the upper 50’s to low 60’s, inshore ocean waters are in the low 60’s, surf temperatures are in the upper 50’s to low 60’s and midshore to offshore waters are in the low to mid 60’s. UV Index will be Moderate at 3/15.
High pressure over the Plains States will build towards the area Thursday Night into Saturday. Low pressure will move across the Great Lakes and Southern Canada this weekend and cause a cold front to cross the region early Monday. More high pressure will then build into the area early next week. A disturbance will approach the area around midweek.
Next week will start off with high pressure, sunny and dry conditions with high temperatures in upper 50’s to mid 60’s. Overnight lows will still get down into the 30’s and 40’s. Midweek a disturbance will move in (frontal boundary a low pressure system possible) and will bring less sun, more clouds and increased rain chances through Thursday or Friday. This could affect Halloween and right now there is a low chance of rain on Halloween Night. This could increase throughout the week. Water and surf conditions look good through midweek. As the disturbance moves in and out of the area, conditions could be affected, sometime around Wednesday Night through Friday.
The tropics are quiet, hopefully for the remainder of the season!
Have a great weekend!
