Left staten island at 6 am with a plan to steam to jones inlet.Seas were a mess but we took it slow and eventually got close enough and started a troll. Caught two nice size bass on stretch 25 lures and then it died for a while. On the way back near the pink hotel the water started to boil so out came the jigs. It was pretty much catch and release for a good hour til it stopped. All fish were between 26 and 35 inches. Crippled herring was the ticket. They would not take diamond jigs or plastics.
