Monger Toggin' 11-26-13
« on: November 27, 2013, 11:23:30 AM »
I got together with Kenny, Paulie, and Phil (Wreckfish) for a blackfish trip on the Fish Monger yesterday.  Also joining us were Paulie's son-in-law Joe and his friend Jim.

It was pretty chilly as we headed out.  Once we arrived it didn't seem that bad, as the wind was fairly calm.  Later in the day we encountered some light, icy, snow and rain.

The bite never got red hot, but Capt. Jerry worked hard finding just the right spots in the area we were fishing.  While most of the day was a fish here and a fish there, we did have a couple of flurries with 3 and 4 fish on at a time.  There weren't a lot of throwbacks today.  We ended up with our limit.  The biggest going about 9 lbs.

I hadn't been on the Monger in quite a while, so it was nice to get out with Capt. Jerry again.  He is still one of the best, and hardest working, charter captains I know.  Mate Danny was great as well.

I had a fun time being a part of another one of Kenny and Paulie's Excellent Adventures.  pawle t^

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.
