Boat Slip pricing
« on: December 23, 2013, 07:31:49 PM »
Started the search today for the new home for the boat next year. Looking to see what prices members are paying for slips in marinas in the Shark River/Belmar area and Manasquan River/Point Pleasant area. If you don't want to publish, please send me a message if you're willing to share.

Thanks guys!

Shark River Yacht Club, $100 per foot. Floating docks, clean restrooms with showers.

Can't beat Shark River Yacht Club location, just make sure you are comfortable docking with a ripping tide first.

Slips/ marinas is a subject we learn more about as we become seasoned boaters, Pros and Cons.....choices we need or would be nice to have. Fresh water to wash down with, electric, how far to travel to get to a inlet. What are marinas water levels on a full moon low tide, what are your fishing choices if the ocean is unfishable. Rack storage is nice as far as keeping your boat like new and there are no worries during most storms, the down side your fishing times are limited unless you make previous arrangements and hope the forklift operator remembers, nothing worse then showing up with fishing buddies at 5:30am and your boat is looking pretty sitting in the rack........just some thoughts to consider t^

Skip, all great feedback and things to think about and consider which we have. Hoping to find the right place with the amenities we are looking for.

Shark River is where I'm docked at also. The only problem they are having since the storm is really low tides. Have had to wait several times to get back into my slip. And yes some of the slips take a really seasoned boater to get into, the currents can be strong and deceiving. Otherwise the prices are good and really nice facility.

I was in shark river yacht club years ago and we always had to wait for high tide and if you get a slip towards the end you will have to deal with the current. I'm now in Belmar marina and I would never go back to sryc. It is pricy but at the end it is well worth it. Concrete docks make all the difference they never move Evan with a lot of people on the finger docks. While SRYC I wood add water and the fact there are no finger docks I jumped off my boat in the rain and slipped and fell and almost slid right into the slip behind me. Thank god he had a dock box which you have to supply yourself. I pay 3800.00 for a 28ft boat but if your between 25-30 you have to pay for a 30ft slip.  And if your between 30-35 you pay for a 35ft slip. But at the end I the year it is so worth it and don't forget there is pier 9 now and another restaurant coming this year.
