Concerning the Barnegat Jetty Repair Project, Paul Novello (VP NJBBA) spoke to the US Army Corps of Engineers, the contractor who will be performing the work, and Island Beach State Park Officials. Here is what we can expect:
The project should be starting in a month or so, and the project duration should be about seven months. They are replacing a 740' +/- portion of the jetty.
The contractor will be fencing off their work area, the fenceline will be about 400' north of the jetty, running parallel with the jetty from close to the dunes to the water line. The public WILL have access from area 23 to the contractors fence, however the public cannot enter the fenced area, this is for your safety. The location of the actual jetty repair will not allow the public on the jetty during construction; again this is for safety reasons.
Hope this helps, spread the word.
Happy Catching
Paul
