Wicked Tuna season premiere 2/16/14
« on: February 15, 2014, 06:20:59 PM »
Don't forget that tomorrow is the season premiere of Wicked Tuna on National Geographic at 9 PM. I still root for Captain Dave of the Tuna.Com even though he is arrogant at times.  He is a New Jersey guy so that gets my vote.

Dave and Sandro are very passionate about what they do. Met them at A.C boat show. Dave was excited that we were joining him this summer for a tuna trip. Maybe we can film our own version of the show while     we're there???   pcrn slt

It was rough....saw the show on Saturday thru On Demand and immediately saw Tyler's fish scene with tons of fog, there were no commercials so it jumped to next scene and he's in bright sunlight with fishing boats floating all around him.(after the commercials on last night's show)..even the part where he runs to talk on the VHF radio was spliced bad.. fcp. Starting to think the freighter was a matchbox boat in the bathtub with steam... hhppy

Bad editing & staged scenes aside, a few very nice fish were caught.

It was nice to hear the story of the generosity of the people of Gloucester that rebuilt the Hard Merchandise, as well as to hear that Paul has purchased his own boat.
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

keep in mind, the fish could have hooked up in the fog, but remember, it took over 2 1/2 hours to reel in, so the fog could have lifted by that time.

Good show last night. t^

It was funny that, while they were supposedly catching their fish simultaneously, and in the same area, Tuna.com was fishing in 2' seas and the Hot Tuna boat was in 4' - 6' seas. nts

Also saw the brands Shimano, Alutecnos and Accurate on various reels, but the letters on all the Penn reels were blurred out.  Guess they didn't pay to play. ;D

grtn I haven't seen this first epi yet, I'll see if I can get in On Demand.
I totally agree with you! Paul in his own way seems to be a good guy; totally into his family which scores huge points with me. He probably needed to be on his own a long time ago. Out of all of the Captains, Marciano is my favorite! I see a few of you caught some differences through out the show too. I'll have to see if I can notice them; but, I doubt it. I'm a lil gullable and usually believe more then I probally should.  fcp
