RECON TRIP FRIDAY, RESULTS!
« on: March 23, 2014, 08:48:10 AM »
made a "search @ no keep" trip Friday to STELLWAGEN" to see what was going on. results excellent, fishing the shoal water, 100 to 120ft. we found scrod to market size cod feeding on blueback herring. jigs with pink curlie tails did the damage. could have caught limits there but moved east to get a broader picture of the bank. fishing in 35 to 40 fathoms we found cod at every stop using fresh shucked sea clams. fish up to 19 pounds. no Pollock yet but we did manage nine nice haddock, they went home for dinner. from what I saw limits of cod for a party of six, 72 fish would be met easily. cant wait till the 16th. pic. of boat before splashing. best, capt. jim
