RECON 2, RESULTS!
« on: March 25, 2014, 05:35:15 AM »
got most of sunday in before the winds chased us home, sw up to 30 kts. started up on the mussel's, usually a early april hot spot. gillnet city! looked around, did not mark much, never made a drop. went east to TILLIE'S BANK and it was lock @ load on market size cod, some haddock and one of the biggest cusk we have ever caught, 39 pounds. limits could have been met easily on cod up there. fresh sea clams produced very nicely. will make one more recon trip before we start for real. best, capt. jim

hunter 2, common up here, head of a cod, body of an eel. like the hard bottom, caught mostly on bait. nice firm white meat, once cleaned cant tell the difference between them and a cod. best, capt. jim
