I'm not sure I could recommend too much over that way! At best, in Seaside Park the Windjammer or the Island Beach Motor Lodge. I don't know what they are like post Sandy.

If this is for a longer stay, I would consider renting a private/by owner house or condo off of vrbo.com or another rental site or realty company.

Either way, I would be very careful and check reviews thoroughly. Bedbugs are a big problem!!

Good luck!

I am looking for a friend. Its only for a 2 night stay. I couldn't believe how low the ratings are for the places in that area.

Might want to try something along Rt. 37 in Toms River.
Good things come to those who bait

Yeah, not many quality places to stay! I would caution your friend about the places in Toms River, too. Just because it is a quality chain, doesn't mean it is quality! In TR stay away from anything east of the Parkway...and there isn't much west of the Parkway, a Quality Inn down near Mule Rd.

There are really slim pickings in this area...kind of sad! There might be some smaller run hotels or motels north on the island, but I am not familiar with any. The Hilton Garden Inn in Lakewood seems to get good reviews.

Good luck! If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

I used to design websites for hotels over that way. No guarantee but the Cranbury Inn was run by a caring owner, I would check ask around a bit more though
