A split weekend both for weather and water conditions with Summer-like temperatures. Friday night will start the weekend off with chances of rain and thunderstorms, as well as patchy to dense fog during the overnight and into the morning and even afternoon on Saturday. Rain and thunderstorm chances will continue into Saturday and Saturday Night, with scattered to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Right now storm chances do not look severe and rain is less than a half an inch total, so while it will be more clouds than sun on Saturday, the day shouldn’t be a complete washout. Sunday will be clearing conditions and skies, with more clouds than sun during the day and a mix of clouds and sun into the night. High temperatures will be in the 60’s, 70’s and even the low 80’s. Overnight lows will only be in the 50’s and 60’s, signaling the return of humidity and muggier conditions this year. Water conditions will be borderline to Cautious on Saturday with the potential of gustier winds, especially in the afternoon building seas. It looks like 20-25 knot gusts as a max and more across Southern and Offshore waters, but there could winds across all adjacent waters. Winds will begin to subside late Saturday, with moderate winds on Sunday Morning subsiding even more into the afternoon. Surf and beach conditions look good with just some gustier winds on Saturday. Water temperatures are in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s with some upper 50’s in shallower waters. UV Index will be Moderate on Saturday and then High on Sunday.

A warm front over the DELMARVA will slowly move northeast through the area by early Saturday. A weak cold front will track across the region late Saturday into early Sunday. A warm front will move north of the region late Monday or Tuesday. A backdoor cold front will try to push into the region from New England by Wednesday. Another cold front in the Great Lakes on Wednesday is forecast to pass slowly through the region Thursday.

The week will start off dry, however an unsettled weather patter will take over by midweek bringing rain and thunderstorm chances by Tuesday Night. Temperatures will continue with highs in the 70’s and low’s in the 50’s, with continued humid air through Thursday or Thursday Night when temperatures look to move back into the 50’s and 60’s with 40’s and 50’s overnight and some drier air in place by the end of the week. Water, surf and beach conditions are good through Tuesday. By Wednesday winds and seas will pick up again and may linger through the weekend.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading! Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms…hope you have a nice Sunday!!
