A wet week with thunderstorms from unsettled weather patterns, but water conditions look good most of the week. There will be rain chances all week with the possibility of thunderstorms through Wednesday and I wouldn’t discredit the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm all week. Monday day will see a mix of sun and clouds with clouds increasing into the night. Monday Night will see showers and thunderstorm possibilities continuing through Friday. The rest of the week will see a mix of sun and clouds with more clouds than sun and rain chances the greatest on Thursday and Friday. The earlier part of the week will have scattered to widely scattered showers throughout the days. Rain accumulations will be in the 1-3 inch range this week, so all flooding type conditions are possible and need to be monitored. High temperatures will peak on Monday in the mid to even upper 80’s inland with mid to upper 70’s along the coast. The rest of the week highs will be in the 60’s and 70’s. Overnight lows will be in the 50’s and 60’s all week. With a highs and lows closing in on each other, humidity will increase and be noticeable most of the week, with higher humidity through Monday Night becoming moderate to lower the remainder of the week. Water conditions look good through Wednesday or early Thursday, albeit, gustier winds are possible earlier in the week bringing conditions bordering on SCA criteria. Thursday and Friday will see Cautious to even Hazardous conditions with winds over 25 knots and seas 5-6 feet with Small Craft Advisories. Surf and beach conditions will be good through Wednesday, then deteriorate on Thursday becoming Cautious on Friday with gusty winds, rough surf and wave heights 2-8 feet possible with the higher surf along Southern beaches. Water temperatures are steady along ocean waters in the mid to upper 50’s with low 50’s offshore. Rivers and bays are in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s in places with shallower waters. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High.

High pressure will remain centered east of the Carolinas into Monday.  A cold front is forecast to approach from the north and northeast Monday Night, then the boundary will push through the region during Tuesday as strong high pressure builds southward from Canada. The boundary will likely dissipate to the west and southwest as the high moves over the Western North Atlantic. A strong cold front is anticipated to approach from the west Thursday, then it should move through the region Friday. The boundary is forecast to move slowly out to sea over the weekend.

The weekend looks like a repeat of the week, with rain chances both days right now. Scattered showersa and thunderstorms are possible, with low to moderate chances right not. Temperatures will continue to be average in the 60’s & 70’s with 40’s to 50’s overnight. Water, surf and beach conditions inshore are modeled to recover for the weekend, however offshore could still see Cautious Conditions, definitely Saturday and likely Sunday.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
