Keyport Area 5/12/14
« on: May 13, 2014, 01:50:42 PM »
Went to this nice spot in the Keyport area that my father recommended to me.  This was my first time fishing in years. Got to the beach around 6:50. High tide was in full effect.  Casted out two rods with fresh cams on them.  I was about to go run out and go to the store because i forgot to get water.  It was me my friend and my gf.  I told them to keep an eye on my rod. As soon as i start walking away to go towards the car, I get a hit on my rod I run towards my rod and hook it. Caught a striper and did not have a tape measurer so i threw it back. I though it was around 26-27 inches. It could of been more but I didnt want to take the chance. It got slow after high tide tried a couple more spots then went back to the original spot when the tide was coming back in.  Blues where jumping everywhere.  My friend caught an American Shad.
